The Swarthmore Meeting property is jointly used, owned, and maintained by the Meeting and by Swarthmore College, which share many costs.
The Meeting’s House & Property Committee is responsible for overseeing most repair, maintenance, and renovation work (both interior and exterior) on Whittier House. Whittier House is the wing of the building that houses the Meeting office, kitchen, First Day School and Nursery School classrooms, library, and Whittier and Rushmore rooms. Whittier Room is used for Meeting for Worship in the summer as well as for concerts and major fellowship events. Rushmore Room is used for many social events, including weekly fellowship, and for art and craft projects.
